Read the manufacturer's instructions and follow them carefully. Many larger transformers have special wiring arrangements that are necessary. Special wiring instructions come with such transformers.
In Fig. 9, the transformer is located in an outlet box in the basement and the wire fed to the four chimes in the unit located somewhere within the house.
